We will be at the Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. Lunch is included in the registration fee.

Eric Shoaf,

Associate Dean & University Librarian,

Everett Library, Queens College


Eric Shoaf is University Librarian, Associate Dean, and Professor of Communications at Queens University of Charlotte.  Previously he has held increasingly responsible administrative positions in libraries at Clemson, University of Texas at San Antonio, and Brown University.  Eric is active in the American Library Association and for several years served as editor of the journal Library Leadership & Management.  Eric is widely published in the library literature and has authored two books on William S. Burroughs.  He received his BA from Duke University, MLS from North Carolina Central University, and MPA from the University of Rhode Island.

Dr. Anne Cooper Moore

Dr. Anne Moore,

Dean of J. Murrey Atkins Library,

University of North Carolina at Charlotte


Dr. Anne Cooper Moore joined UNC Charlotte as Dean of the J. Murrey Atkins Library in June 2015. Previously she served as Dean of Library Affairs at Southern Illinois University (SIU) Carbondale, Dean of Libraries at the University of South Dakota (USD) in Vermillion, and Associate Director for User Services and Head of Reference Services at UMass Amherst. She has served in nearly all areas of the library over her career that began in 1979 at Duke University Libraries. She is most interested in shaping facilities, collections, and services that meet the continuously evolving needs of students, faculty, and other constituents from academic libraries. Integration into the curriculum, campus, and community are a major factor of the changing role of academic libraries in the next few years.


Anne is active in the ALA Library Leadership and Management Association [LLAMA], Measurement Assessment and Evaluation Section [MAES] and will be section chair for the 2016-2017 year.

 

She has taught as an adjunct faculty member at Simmons College School of Library and Information Science since 2004.

 

Anne has a B.A. in English and Spanish from Duke University an MLIS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Ph.D. in Educational Management and Development from New Mexico State University. Her dissertation was on the assessment of information literacy using a test and research paper bibliography assessment.
