2024 MLA CONFERENCE |
Call for Proposals! - Deadline Extended!Metrolina Library Association is now accepting poster and presentation proposals for our 2024 conference, which is scheduled for Thursday, June 13, 2024, at the Parr Center at Central Piedmont Community College. This year’s theme is “Rising to the Challenge.” “Rising to the Challenge” represents our shared commitment to championing libraries as a cornerstone of democracy while acknowledging the numerous challenges that librarians must overcome. From responding to book challenges, combating misinformation, rapid technological changes, budget and staffing challenges, burnout and low morale, and the ever-evolving challenges of meeting the needs of the communities we serve, librarians must adapt and thrive. We want to know: · What challenges have you faced? How did you navigate them? · How can we better prepare for challenges? · How can we turn challenges into opportunities? · How can we challenge our communities to grow and improve? Please fill out this short Google form to submit your proposal: https://forms.gle/qxRre7j9SsuZJbiVA You may submit a proposal for a breakout session (50 minutes) or a poster session (30 minutes).
